Café Terrace at Night is an 1888 oil painting by the Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh. In a letter to his sister he mentioned how much he enjoyed the scene at night after his depiction of it in this painting. This is the first painting in which he used starry backgrounds and it accurately depicts where the stars were in sky at the time.
